In the Spring of 1984,
Doug Gaunt graduated from Canadore College in North Bay, ON with a diploma in Airframe Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Technology. What began as a summer job in Yellowknife, NWT working as the Base Engineer for La Ronge Aviation turned into a lifelong career spanning countries and continents.
Whether on skis for the Antarctic ice, or on floats atop the Indian Ocean, Doug came to love the rugged versatility of the De Havilland Twin Otter. For decades, he has maintained his M1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license through Transport Canada, and specializes in pressurized turbine and piston engine aircraft under 12,500 pounds.

When he's not on the hangar floor, Doug enjoys traveling with his wife, Bonnie, spending quality time with his daughters, and planning his next hunting or fishing expedition.
